DMRC Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria will vary as per the job role for which the candidate is applying. It generally includes jobs for 10+2, graduates as well as experienced candidates. The jobs are divided into two prominent roles, Executive and Non-Executive. Let us have a look at details for both the Executive as well as the Non-Executive positions:

Executive (Assistant Manager):

For aspirants wanting to join DMRC as an Assistant Manager, they must be from Electrical, S&T, Stores, Civil or Computer Engineering. Candidates can also join the DMRC as an Assistant Manager having the qualifications in Architecture, Traffic Control & Planning, Finance, and Legal. DMRC also specifies the minimum passing percentage with each job role which is 60% at the graduation level. For most of these roles, the candidate is required to have an experience of at least two years in their field.

Non-Executive (Junior Engineer, Assistant):

For candidates wanting to join DMRC as Junior Engineer, they must be from Electrical, Electronics, Civil, Environment and Computer Science Engineering background. Other assistant posts advertised include Fire Inspector, Stores, Arch. Assistant, Assistant Programmer, Legal Assistant, Customer Relationship Assistant (CRA), Accounts Assistant, Stores Assistant, Assistant Customer Care, Office Assistant, Stenographer, Maintainer / Electrician, Maintainer / Electrical or Mechanical and Maintainer / Fitter. These job roles are for both graduates as well as the candidates from the 10+2 category.

DMRC Test Pattern

DMRC conducts all its recruitments in online mode. However, there are interviews for the posts of Assistant Manager (Electrical, Civil, Operations, S & T) and Station Controller / Train Operator. While, only a recruitment test in online mode for CRA (Customer Relations Assistant), JE, Maintainer, and other posts.

The DMRC recruitment consists of two papers, i.e. Paper 1, which has subjects like GK, Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning, and Knowledge of Domain with a total of 120 questions and 90 minutes allotted. The medium of language is English and Hindi. Paper 2 is taken to check a candidate’s ability in the English language. It has a total of 60 questions to be attempted in 45 minutes. Both the papers are MCQ based.

Candidates must keep in mind that both the papers will involve negative marking leading to a deduction of 0.33 marks from the total score, whereas a correct answer fetches one mark. The selection happens, including the following steps:

  • Medical Examination, Psycho Test (SC & TO), and Skill Test (For Stenographer)
