Growing up, we were told by our parents, teachers, and elders that we could be anything we wanted to be. I remember clearly as a child that my parents wanted me to be a doctor or medical practitioner. Fast forward to 20 plus years later, and I have grown to know that while we need more doctors and health care practitioners, the world will be a lot better with people who exhibit more human kindness.

In a world where you can be anything, be kind. You can be whatever you aspire to become and still have sympathy towards your fellow human. It doesn’t matter your job description or whether you are rich, poor, or the part of the world you reside in, extending a helping hand to others in need is the responsibility of every human being. You can check here for a list of things you can do to make the world a better place.

No Better Time Than Now

If there was ever a time that we needed to be our brother’s keeper, it is now. With the entire world dealing with the uncertainties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping across all corners of the globe, it is safe to conclude that humanity needs to do more to preserve its existence.

An outbreak that began in Wuhan China towards the end of 2019 quickly spread to all corners of the world in less than three months. What this clearly shows is that our actions affect one another.

While this article does not aim to criticize any nation for putting the world in a great deal of uncertainty for a more significant part of 2020, you will agree that it required the collective effort of countries to deal with the emerging situation.

So are we then allowed to treat all of humanity as we please? I am not only questioning our relationship with humans, but even animals and plants also deserve fair treatment. This page https://www.inc.com/lolly-daskal/9-important-ways-that-will-make-you-treat-people-better.html helps shed some light on why the world needs to treat one another as equals.

The Critical Question

critical

Before I go in-depth and start asking about your relationship with the environment, let me first ask this critical question, I have wanted to ask you all this while. How is your relationship with your fellow humans? And I am not talking about your family and friends. I am talking about the stranger on the bus on your commute, the lady across the road calling for help. Like the one in Phil Collin’s 1980s hit another day in Paradise.

If you have a hard time answering the question in the last paragraph, like Phil Collins called on the man in his song, I implore you to “think twice.” about your actions as they affect everyone else. The world could be a paradise for you, and I, no matter how short our time here is, all it takes is to have a heart of kindness.

I know it can be hard with all the challenges that come with everyday life, but you need to know you are not alone in the struggle and hustle. Like a wise man once told me, “while you are fighting for your little piece, remember that even with little or nothing, it’s always enough that you can breathe.” So, my dear, I implore you to breathe whenever you feel the heat. Breathe even when you are drowning in all of life’s endless seas.

Growing a Kind Conscious

Kind Conscious

If you have ever heard the phrase “grow a conscience.” you know it is possible to turn a new leaf. So if you want to make an impact in the world, you want to start becoming someone who exudes positivity.

It may be an excellent idea to surround yourself with all the positive vibe you can find. Go for uplifting and inspiring music, books, movies. You could also add some graphic inscribed t-shirts and hoodies to remind you of your commitment to be a kind and gentle soul.

I had an aunt who adopted a pet cat so she could show some kindness to animals and help contribute to a better place. She made the commitment when my niece, who was only nine, passed away to leukemia.

It was a trying time for her. She cut herself from everyone and was a total recluse for a couple of years. She had separated from her husband, as a result of the event. So she was really in a pickle and every one of us her family member was worried about her welfare.

To cut the story short, she was tracked down when she later confided in a friend that she was contemplating suicide. I decided to share this story with you because, just like my aunt, I know that you also have faced challenges that have made you look at the world differently. It is not too late to enjoy the peace and happiness that abounds out there in every corner of the world. Remember, in a world where you can be anything, be kind, be you, and be happy. Cheers!!!
