As International Women’s Day approaches on March 8th, the contributions of females everywhere will be highlighted across a broad spectrum of niches. That includes successful businesswomen, of which there are many throughout the world. While the likes of Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, and Elon Musk might generally be the first names which spring to mind when you hear ‘entrepreneur’, let’s not forget the many inspirational women who have made millions (if not billions) from their business acumen.

This infographic from All Finance Tax (http://allfinancetax.com/revenue-audit/) profiles some of the most prominent female entrepreneurs in the world. Not all have gone down the conventional small business route – Beyoncé Knowles was already a wealthy, world-famous figure before she founded her own fashion label and online store. There are some romantic rags-to-riches tales included, though. Legendary author J.K. Rowling was a single mother getting by on welfare when she penned the first Harry Potter book and she now owns one of the most lucrative fiction franchises of all time. Or what about Spanx founder Sara Blakely? She had to sell fax machines door to door in her 20s just to make a living and she now owns a company worth more than $1 billion.

While the back stories of the women featured in the infographic might differ significantly, they have all become role model entrepreneurs for females everywhere due to their hard work, self-belief, and determination to make a difference. We hope that any women with small businesses reading this will take heart from the tales of Sara Blakely and co.
